Hungary Creek Middle School English teacher (and U.S. Army veteran) Gerald Evans is hosting and moderating an event at Hungary Creek December 4, from 6-7:30pm at HCMS, that will focus on military communication while talking with local military veterans and community members.
The event is sponsored by (and in conjunction with) the National Humanities Center (Durham, NC). The Center’s Vice President of Education, Andy Mink, will be part of the panel, and he will be sharing the importance of humanities as a discipline on everything we do.
Communication is 1 of the 6 C’s or life skills that we believe students need to be life ready. The event specifically focuses on the difference of communication styles among military life which affects transitioning to civilian life. This is a real life communication issue and students have the opportunity to experience and help improve in their community.
Everyone is welcome to attend from our local community!
