In order for student devices to be serviced over the summer and ready for next school year, HCPS is requiring students and their families to return their student device and charger the last week of school (in-person) or the week after school ends (virtual learners).
The collection process for virtual student device and charger will be a drive-up and drop-off service. Cars arriving at each middle school’s virtual student devices collection location will be guided to a vehicle line and requested to provide virtual student names and will then hand over each student’s device and charger to HCPS Technology staff members. Families should not leave their cars and the process is anticipated to move efficiently for each vehicle.
However, students participating in HCPS summer school programs or any other HCPS directed/approved summer learning will keep their devices over the summer and return their devices to the school when their summer work is completed to then be serviced in preparation for the start of the next school year.
Middle School In-Person Student Device and Charger Collection:
Collection of all in-person student devices will occur at each student’s school. We will begin the collection of these computers on Tuesday, June 15th in their last block. If a student needs their computer for make-up testing on Wednesday, June 16th, they will keep their computers and leave their devices with their last block teacher on Thursday, June 17th.
Middle School Virtual Student Device and Charger Collection:
Collection of all middle school virtual student devices will occur the week after school ends on June 21st through June 24th (Monday – Thursday). Students and parents/guardians are asked to return their device to their closest middle school during the hours of 7 AM – 6 PM. Students living closest to Moody Middle School are asked to return their devices to Brookland Middle School — 9200 Lydell Drive, Henrico, Va. 23228
Below are the 11 Middle School locations that will be collecting all virtual student devices Monday-Thursday, June 21st through June 24th.

Testing Info – Calendar / Wellness Wednesday:
Due to SOL testing for virtual students beginning Wednesday, May 12th, we will no longer host synchronous Wellness Wednesday lessons due to all staff participating in the administration of the SOLs. However, teachers will be providing asynchronous assignments/make-up activities/remediation/review activities to be completed during this period in time. Beginning May 12th, students will no longer need to log into Advisory on Wednesday mornings.
The link below highlights our testing window/calendar for the remainder of the school year.
From the Library:
All HCMS Library books were due back by Friday, May 28, 2021. Please check in backpacks, in closets, under beds, and on bookshelves and get those books back! Many books from the 2019-2020 school year were never returned in addition to overdue books from this school year. Books may be returned to the green cart outside the library, to the blue bins in English and reading classrooms, and to the black and yellow bin outside the HCMS main entrance between 7:45 and 3:45 pm on school days. Additionally, students who are still virtual who are unable to return their books during school hours can schedule a pickup here!
Did you know that the number of books we have lost in the last two school years is greater than the number of new books we have been able to purchase in that time? Please bring back your books!
