Important information regarding tryouts and the season will be outlined by the athletic director and coaches at informational meetings before the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

Before trying out or participating in any sport, there are several forms that must be completed and turned in to the coaches. You must have a completed Henrico County physical form dated AFTER May 1, 2022 to try out for any sport , as well as a concussion form and an acknowledgment and consent form.

Important information regarding tryouts and the season will be outlined by the athletic director and coaches at informational meetings before the fall, winter and spring seasons.

Fall Sports: girls basketball, boys’ soccer, football, and girls tennis, and Cheerleading.  Tryouts for the Fall Season will start on Wednesday, September 7th with a completed sports physical submitted to the school.  Forms and schedules can be found under the Parents Information Tab.  There will be a fall sports parent meeting on Wednesday, August 31st at 4:00 in the auditorium.

Winter Sports: wrestling and boys’ basketball

Spring Sports Parents Meeting– Will be on Thursday March 9th, 2023 at 4 pm in the auditorium.  Come meet the coaches and hear about trying out for spring sports.

Spring Sports: girls and boys track, softball, baseball, boys’ tennis, and girls’ soccer.

Staying for a sporting event?
Here’s what you need to do!
•You must submit a permission note from your parent or guardian to the front office THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT!! You will be issued a wristband for that event on game day. Wristbands will be issued from the front office.
•You are not allowed to call home or get a fax for the sporting permission note, so plan ahead!

If you do not bring a note and you want to attend a game, you will need to do the following:

  • Go home on the bus
  • Come back with a parent
  • Your parent will need to stay with you during the game.

After-school athletics may be canceled at times. These cancellations will be covered on the afternoon announcements at HCMS.
