Lights, camera, action! 🎬 Our amazing 2nd graders brought stories to life today with some fantastic reader’s theater performances! 🤩



🌟 SUPERSTARS ALERT! 🌟 Thank you so much to Mrs. Hines, Ms. Perkins, and Ms. Keck for taking on the task of tie dying T-shirts for the grade levels for field day! 😍 We can’t wait to see all the ❤️💚💛💙 next Friday!



Who says you can’t learn about pollination using Cheetos!? 🧡🌻 Ms Perkins’ 4th graders used cheetos to discuss how pollination works in flowers. Look at those big 😃!!











Today Mrs. Hines class took on the James River! Big shout out to James River Association for putting on one of the highlights of 4th grade! We learned what a healthy river has. We went on a nature hike to observe native and invasive species. We also tested the water for the amount of oxygen is in the river for the fish to breathe. Lastly, we conducted an experiment to determine how much sediment is in the water. What a fun day had by all! 🐟 ☀️ 🌳






We had our last open door open hearts this past Friday! 💙 Thank you @henricopolice for making the first Friday of every month so special!! 🫶🏼










4th graders became BOTANISTS today! We learned about the parts of a plant and flower. We dissected a flower and learned what parts are used during the reproductive process! 🌸🐝🦋






These AWESOME 1st graders had the best spring day at Maymont during their field trip earlier this month! 🌺 They learned about animal needs and habitats. 🏠 Special shoutout to the wonderful chaperones and students that made this one of the best days! ☀️







📣 Here here! 📣 4th Grade listened to the famous speech Patrick Henry said at St.John’s Church! Then we ventured to the Capitol. We learned about the architecture of the building and influential people in Virginia with engaging statues.

In Mrs.Hines room they focused on oceans! Students reviewed how temperature and salinity affect ocean currents. Students also used Code and Go Mice to answer Ocean Review task cards!

Last Thursday and Friday, the students participated in science rotations to help the 5th graders prep for the SOL!
🪨 Mrs. Stehlin’s rotation focused on Earth and Rocks. They used sand to demonstrate plate tectonics and then weathering, erosion and deposition.

🤩 Work hard PLAY HARD! Mrs Hines class had a fun GLOW DAY! We played Boom Clap Snatch, did some word problems and enjoyed some team building activities! ⭐️










🧠 These 4th graders are focused when it comes to their math review, JENGA style! 4th grade is crushing their review to get ready for their math sols! 🤩








🌍 HAPPY EARTH DAY! 🌍 We challenge everyone to commit to doing one action that will have a positive impact on Mother Nature. It could be picking up trash, recycling, or even as simple as turning off water when you are not using it. 💙
